Brush Lettering Workshop

Join Native Hawaiian wahine artist Kea Peters of Kākou Collective for a guided brush lettering workshop focused on building a strong foundation in hand lettering. This class creates space to slow down, practice, and develop control through intentional strokes and repetition.

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the fundamentals of brush lettering—from understanding basic strokes to forming letters and connecting them into words. This workshop is designed to help you build confidence in your lettering practice while developing skills you can continue using on your own.

Not sure where to start? Kea will walk you through each step of the process, with guided worksheets and reference materials provided so you can focus on learning and practicing.

Each participant will receive a set of tools to use during class and take home, so you can continue practicing beyond the workshop.

We provide (included in your take-home kit + class use):
Brush pens
Guided worksheets and practice sheets
Reference materials
Step-by-step instruction and guidance

Optional:
If you have preferred lettering tools you’ve been wanting to try, you’re welcome to bring them along.

This mindset guides all we do, from our artwork to our workshops, reminding us to move with mindfulness and understanding that our creative ripples touch not just those beside us, but our entire community. It's about recognizing that when we create together, learn together, and grow together, we elevate everyone - even those we haven't met yet.

I love that the [puakenikeni] lei design catches everyone's eye, and I love telling them about this local artist when they ask. It's not just a sticker - it's a durable piece of art that brings a touch of aloha to my everyday items. Definitely getting more to add to my collection!

I absolutely love my lei wrap sticker from Kākou Collective! It's been on my water bottle through beach days, hikes, and countless washes, and it still looks as beautiful as the day I put it on.

Been using lei wrap stickers on my laptop and water bottle for over a year now and I'm amazed at how well it's held up! The vinyl quality is top-notch - no fading or peeling even with daily use. But what I love most is how Kea captured the lei in such a beautiful way. These stickers are the perfect blend of beauty and durability!
