Artist Statement: Kea Peters

As a Native Hawaiian artist, I deeply understand my kuleana, or responsibility, to weave our culture into all facets of my work, crafting a legacy for future generations while inspiring authenticity in budding creators.

Through my art, I aim to spark conversation, connection, and inspiration, igniting dialogue and fostering deeper understanding among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
At the heart of my practice lies a commitment to community, fostering connection and solidarity through collaborative endeavors with fellow artists and community members.

Together, we strive to uplift and empower our communities, celebrating the diversity and resilience of Hawaiian culture. Our art serves as a reflection of our identity, heritage, and hopes for a brighter future, intending to inspire, educate, and instill pride in our shared cultural legacy with every creation.
