Shipping policy

Domestic Orders

Processing - something we are in control of.

Shipping - something mail delivery services and carriers are in control of.

Once you place an order, processing can take up to 3-10 business days (and up to 14 business days during the holidays starting 9/1). We will work to process your order as quickly as possible and usually can get it out sooner.

Once an item has left our possession and is with the mail carrier the only information we have is the provided tracking number. We cannot be held responsible for loss, delay, theft or damages once an item has left our possession and is with the nominated mail carrier. We understand the frustration and annoyance that comes with missing packages and can provide your tracking number in case you are unable to locate the tracking number provided. Mahalo for supporting local - we as small businesses depend on your support and the mail delivery services to keep our businesses going. 

Shipments can be delayed up to 15-25 days due to COVID-19 delays.
All domestic orders are sent via USPS. While we cannot guarantee a delivery date, shipping in Hawaii usually takes about 1-3 business days, 3-5 Business days within the US & 2-4 weeks for international & APO addresses. 

International orders ship via USPS, with shipping costs varying by class, country and order weight. This amount is calculated at checkout. International orders typically take 1 - 2 weeks to arrive, but we cannot guarantee a delivery date. Due to the USPS international tracking system for first class mail, we cannot track the exact progress of your order. We can see when it left the local post office and when it is delivered to you. International sales are final. Many countries have customs, duties & taxes, and/or clearance charges for which you will be responsible. Since these fees are not computed nor applied to orders by Kakou Collective LLC, please contact your local customs office to find out more about rules and regulations that may apply to you. If you have any further questions or concerns about international shipping please contact us at aloha@kakoucollective.com.

INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS

If a package is returned to Kakou Collective, LLC with an "insufficient address, unable to forward, or return to sender" the customer is responsible to update their address and cover the cost of shipping and handling to be determined at that time based on shipping costs. Please email aloha@kakoucollective.com should you have a package meeting this criteria. 

TRACKING YOUR PACKAGE

Please allow 48 hours from the time you receive your tracking number for it to populate before calling in to inquire.

PROCESSING & SHIPPING TIMES

All orders placed will process within 48 hours and ship within 7 business days. Custom orders will ship within 14 business days due to the handmade/custom nature of the item. This will exclude orders during observed Hawaiʻi state/Federal Holidays, and Hawaiian Holidays/Special Occasions. Kākou Collective can not control the arrival of the package once it leaves the facility on Oʻahu. We do however post a tracking number once the item leaves our facility.

SALES TAXES

We are required to collect state sales taxes for most states at rates which are set by each state, county and local municipality as determined by the zip code where you receive delivery.

If the state given in your shipping address is one of these states, applicable sales taxes will be added to your total amount and shown on your checkout pages unless an exemption is requested and the order is placed as stated above.

International Orders

More countries are being added on an ongoing basis, so please check this site regularly if your desired country is not shown. Select items are excluded from international shipping. International order totals cannot exceed $1,500 USD.

"U.S. TERRITORIES"

Kakou Collective does ship to: Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa. Available ship methods are Basic or Preferred delivery for these territories. To ship to a U.S. territory, select the United States as the Ship To country, then choose the appropriate U.S. territory in the State listing. 

HOW TO ORDER

Shop KakouCollective.com as you normally would by adding items to your bag and clicking on the checkout button. When you proceed to checkout, choose from the applicable billing and shipping countries.

PAYMENT METHODS

All transactions are settled in U.S. dollars. We accept any major credit card and PayPal. Orders are subject to verification and acceptance before shipping. Your credit card will be billed within 24 hours.

CUSTOMS, DUTIES, TARIFFS, TAXES AND VALUE ADDED TAX (VAT)

All duties and taxes are unpaid. The amounts are typically determined based on a combination of factors that may include: The merchandise’s country of origin or manufacture. The merchandise classification, using a system adopted by the countries that we ship to. VAT rates are set by the country to which the order is shipping. Please Note: If you refuse delivery of the shipment, you are responsible for payment of all return shipping fees and any applicable fees, duties and taxes; in this case, all such return shipping fees and any applicable fees, duties and taxes will be billed to the method of payment you used. Shipping fees are not refundable for undeliverable shipments or refused shipments.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING OPTIONS

For international orders, you will be presented with shipping options at checkout. Select the shipping method that best meets your needs. Since shipping fees are calculated based on a number of factors (including, without limitation, the desired shipping method and speed, the contents of and number of items in your order, the weight of the items in your order and the location to which the order is shipping), shipping charges can only be provided once you begin the checkout process. Unfortunately, we cannot offer free shipping to international destinations. Please Note: Shipping windows are estimates and delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. You will be given estimated delivery days at the time of checkout based on your selected destination country and the shipping methods available for the items in your shopping cart.
