About the Design

Hiki nō — can do. Designed by Native Hawaiian wahine artist Kea Peters, the Hiki Nō Tee reminds us that no matter what comes our way, it can be done.

The front of the tee features the bold phrase Hiki Nō, while the back carries the ʻŌlelo Noʻeau, He ʻAʻaliʻi kū makani mai au; ʻaʻohe makani nāna e kulaʻi — “I am an ʻAʻaliʻi standing in the wind; no wind can knock me down.” Inspired by the ʻAʻaliʻi (Dodonaea viscosa), this design honors the strength and steadfastness of one of Hawaiʻi’s most resilient native plants.

Like the ʻAʻaliʻi, we bend but do not break. Through wind, change, and challenge — hiki nō, can do.
