About the Design
Designed by Native Hawaiian wahine artist Kea Peters, the Nourish to Flourish Tee is inspired by Pāʻu o Hiʻiaka, a native beach plant whose story reminds us that care and intention create the conditions for growth.
The moʻolelo of Pāʻu o Hiʻiaka tells of the goddess Hiʻiakaikapoliopele, youngest sister of Pele, whose journey across Hawaiʻi brought healing, growth, and renewal to the land. It is said that where Hiʻiaka rested, a soft green plant began to grow, its leaves spreading like the skirt she wore — earning the name Pāʻu o Hiʻiaka, or “Hiʻiaka’s skirt.” Found near the shore, this native plant is a living reminder that life flourishes where care and intention take root — a reflection that you gotta nourish to flourish.
