Art that Gives - Celebrating Perpetuating Hawaiian Culture Through Collaborative Art

Kakou Collective was asked to create a design that would serve as a fundraising piece in celebration of the 10th anniversary of ʻAha Punana Leo ʻO Mānoa, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating children in the Hawaiian language. We were honored to be asked to create this design and were happy to donate custom artwork incorporating Kalo and Kapa Kuiki. The hope was that this design, "E Huliāmahi" would serve as a call to action to put in the work, patience, and aloha so that our hua and hopena is bountiful. The kuiki kalo not only represents the pilina between both keiki and makua, but also the overall hope that our lāhui will continue to thrive here in Hawaiʻi nei. This act of generosity sheds light on the importance and value of donating artwork that perpetuates Hawaiian culture.
