Countdown to the New Year!

Aloha everyone!

As December is coming to an end, we wanted to take a second to reflect on this past year and shout out a huge ‘MAHALO!!’ to our Kākou Collective Hui. Your support in our small business has been amazing and has made so many things possible for us this year.

For these last five days of 2023, we will be doing a countdown series to highlight a few of our proudest and most fulfilling moments of the year!

First up, 2023 brought us so many opportunities to work with other awesome local businesses here in Hawaii. We feel so lucky to have worked with all these amazing companies and the wonderful people behind them!

In April for Ka Mahina Lāʻau Kamaʻāina (Native Hawaiian Plant Month), we collaborated with Emily States, the owner and illustrator of Kaulumaika, and Danya Weber, the owner and illustrator of Laulima Hawaii. All month long, we brought you interesting tidbits and drawing tutorials for a variety of native Hawaiian lāʻau (plants)! We learned a ton and hope you did too!

This summer, we worked with the one and only Jules + Gem to produce Onaona, our iconic fragrance inspired by our pīkake and puakenikeni Onaona print!

In October, in honor of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we did a very special collaboration with Kaleimamo Hawaiʻi and Coco Moon Hawaiʻi. Together, we created a collection of baby items and clothing featuring a beautiful lei design and the ʻōlelo noʻeau (Hawaiian proverb), "He lei poina ʻole ke keiki.” This proverb means, "A lei never forgotten is the beloved child."

Last but not least, we have continued to work with the fabulous Valia Honolulu! We love this relationship and have been lucky enough to continue building on it this year.

That’s all for today but come check us out tomorrow as we continue our Countdown to the New Year reflection series!

A hui hou! (Until next time)
