Lā ʻElua (Day Two): Countdown to the New Year reflection series!
It is Lā ʻElua (Day Two) of our Countdown to the New Year reflection series! In case you missed it, for the last five days of 2023, we will take a moment each day to reflect on some of our proudest and most fulfilling memories of 2023!
Today we are reliving some of our awesome achievements! Woohoo! We are so proud of our founder and illustrator, Kea Peters for winning the Small Business Award (SBA) for Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the State of Hawaii this year! These awards span multiple categories, and there are winners for every county. Every year, winners are selected from tons of nominations. Out of all the candidates, only one nationally recognized State winner is awarded per category and…our girl won!! Go Kea!
As if that isn’t impressive enough, Kākou Collective also won the People’s Choice Award from the YWCA later this year!
And finally, we were so humbled and fortunate to be selected for the First Cohort of Project Hana Noʻeau, guided by the PAʻI Foundation and Administration for Native Americans. Mahalo!
We know we wouldn’t have gotten any of these awards without the constant support of our community, and for that we are forever grateful. Mahalo for helping us thrive and making 2023 a year full of wonderful achievements for our small business!
See you tomorrow as we continue our Countdown to the New Year reflection series!
