Hand Lettering + Illustration Workshop

Join Kea Peters of Kakou Collective for a fun lettering and illustration workshop: Fauxligraphy and Florals! This is perfect for those that would love to change up the look of their planners and projects by adding a personalized touch. Our workshop is approximately 2 hours and will be divided into three sections. In the first section, we will take a dive into the world of hand lettering utilizing the modern calligraphy method of Fauxligraphy (where we achieve the look of calligraphy without using any specialty tools). For the second section, we will be learn to illustrate some local favorite lei flowers. In our third section, we will combine our new skills to create a journaling card. This class is perfect for beginners that are interested in learning the basics. No experience necessary.

In the fauxligraphy portion of class we will be covering:

• Fauxligraphy Basics (the rules and tools)
• Shapes and Strokes
• Connections/Spacing
• Composition

For the floral portion, we will illustrate

• Puakenikeni
• Pikake
• Loke

This workshop is designed to be small and intimate so that each attendee receives one-on-one guidance and personal instruction throughout the class. Space is limited to just 12 attendees.

The cost of class is $45 (plus tax). You will receive a starter kit that includes a personalized folder, worksheets, tools (including pens and project items), and Kakou Collective Swag. No experience is necessary. This workshop is created specifically with beginners in mind.

After the workshop, if you have signed up for our newsletter, you will receive practice worksheet PDFs that you can download at home and continue practicing your new skills.
